TSM is part of a world-wide shift to increase productivity and efficiency, by utilizing the metal plasma cutter.   Metal plasma cutting is a process used to cut steel and other metals (or sometimes other materials) using a plasma torch.

The metal plasma cutter torch utilizes a two-cycle method when producing plasma. To begin, a high-voltage, low current circuit is used to create a tiny but high intensity spark within the torch body, in doing so generating a small pocket of plasma gas. This is what we refer to as the pilot arc.

The now conductive plasma contacts the work piece, which completes the circuit.  The plasma, which is sustained between the work piece and electrode, moves at over 15,000 km/h (12x the speed of sound).

TSM Houston realizes that the metal plasma cutter is an effective means of cutting both thin and thick materials. Just to give some comparison, hand-held torches can probably cut steel plates up to 2’’ (48 mm) thick, while our metal plasma cutter torches can pierce steel up to 12 inches (300 mm) thick.

Metal plasma cutters generate an incredibly hot and localized 'cone' with which to cut. Consequently, they are extremely useful for cutting sheet metal in curved or angled shapes.  TSM Houston also utilizes a high-definition metal plasma cutter that cuts carbon steel and stainless steel to incredible precision and accuracy.

In addition, TSM Houston has grown in expertise with the use of CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) Metal Plasma Cutters – computer-controlled metal plasma cutters that can receive an inputted CAD file and use it to create a detailed, high-quality part.

So join TSM Houston, and join the technological movement with the metal plasma cutter – cutting-edge technology of the future (no pun intended).Metal Plasma Cutter
